Hi Margot, One of my ancestors from Ballynilard (formerly Ballinard) married a Doherty. Not much to work with but here's the details anyway: Jeremiah (Darby) Elligott married Hanorah Doherty (from the parish of Tipperary) and a daughter Catherine was chr. 1/10/1835 Info from the Tipp Heritage Unit.
