    3. Here is another that I have not spent much time researching yet - too busy with my Doon MADDEN's. <g> Henry MALLYON arrived from Essex in 1874, and he married this Irish lass, supposedly straight from the boat. If so, then Mary arrived in 1877 and he took her straight out to Springsure to be married (or did she travel to Springsure to meet him?). Grandchildren tell the story of the Irish Catholic and English Protestant who could not marry in England so Henry came ahead to prepare the way for his Irish love. Of course, there is no evidence that these two even knew each other in the 'old country' but that does not stop the family folklore!! Mary Jane DAVISON Born: 1852 County Dury, Ireland {{Co. Dury - no such place.- is it likely to be Co.Down.}} Married: 20 April 1877 Springsure, Qld, - Henry MALLYON; Died: 1919 Springsure, Qld, Aust Father: Alexander DAVISON Mother: Jane ?? I do know that they had two sons, one of whom was my ggrandfather and he married Elizabeth MADDEN (my ggrandmother), and I know 'most' of their descendants. <g> Would be interested in hearing from anyone who may have a connection.
