Hello other Murray researchers especially County Fermanagh Murray researchers - hoping someone can connect to my Charles & Susan (Shannon) Murray (married Kesh) who emigrated from Fermanagh to Australia in 1838, arriving Sydney NSW 11 March 1839. They were accompanied on the Barque "Susan" by their six children: James, Phillip, Elinor, Mary, Charles & Margaret. - My research found Murrays and Shannons living mid 1830s at Aghinver, near Kesh Co Fermanagh IRE. Charles' father was James; mother Ellen McGoldrick (or McGoldrich). Family history relates the family originally were from Scotland - probably Plantation Scots. They went first to Garden Hill, Wollongong NSW and then settled eventually at Yatte Yattah near Milton on the NSW South Coast. Regards Joan Dawes [Email: [email protected]]
