GUNNING, MINAHAN/MINEHAN/MINIHAN - O'BriensBridge, Co. Clare to Victoria. Patrick GUNNING and wife Mary MINAHAN migrated to Melbourne [Emerald Hill] in 1854 with children Patrick, Catherine, Bridget, Hanora & Michael. Their sons Pierce, Thomas & Dennis joined them the following year. Am particularly interested in finding out: What became of Pierce GUNNING More about Dennis GUNNING & his wife Margaret TOOHEY who moved to Sydney where he was an operatic singer at the time of his death in 1894. Margaret's parents Matthew TOOHEY [a publican] and Norah [HALL] also moved to NSW. Am unsure when the moves took place. Catherine GUNNING m. William John MINTY in 1869 in Melbourne. Their son William John MINTY "according to family lore" was a butcher & became a mayor of Coburg - have been unable to verify this.
