    3. Hi Gay, I have a Norah Lyons who was born in Kapunda/Gawler , SA in 1867 to Thomas Lyons and Ann McGann, who were married in Kapunda in 1865. I am trying to find out any more about the family if possible. I would especially like to track more on Thomas and Ann, but seem to have come up against a brick wall there. Norah was my great grandmother and married James FLOOD in Silverton in 1889. The family then ended up settling in HAY. Hope you don't mind my asking, but was wondering if any of the above was familiar? Thanks Lorraine ----- Original Message ----- From: "O'Neill Gay" <> To: <> Sent: Friday, June 13, 2003 11:28 AM Subject: Re: [AUS-IRISH] KEARNEY - Limerick to Rockhampton > Hi Margaret, > Do you know where your Hanora Lyons originated from? > My Lyons that I am currently tracking are from Cork then to Australia.. > They show up in Victoria before going to New Zealand and then back to > Victoria, following the gold rush trail. 3. Hi Lesley, Haven't checked the mail for a couple of days and I see a couple have told you where the Woolshed Valley is.Would appreciate any lookups if you can. What seems to be is-a John Anderson was born to John Anderson and Jane Rain(e) at Spring Creek in 1858 and a daughter Mary in 1860 at Oxley-don't know where either of these places are.I also have a marriage of John Anderson and Janes Raines in 1867 with John Anderson born in Malta and Jane born Scotland. I do not know whether these people are mine-this is from Fiche at the library and all I have been able to find. John Anderson's(the son) marriage cert. shows no parents names. BUT-and this is what is confusing me and making my searches hard named the son John's father as William. My grandmother is now dead and I am unable to ask her any more. I don't know how hard records are from inside Vict. but from here they are expensive to access. John (son) or his father (or even both) were supposed to be in the police force at the time of the Kelly gang and resigned when the arrest warrant went out as they were friends of Kate Kelly and her mother (legend or truth I am no longer sure) but am trying on the Police Force angle from here as the son John is supposed to have retired from the Newcastle area. I am tending to feel from what I can find that father and son were John but William was possibly a brother. But I can only find the two births to John and Jane. 2. Sharon
    3. Hello all, My third great grandparents were Edward J. and Margaret Doolan Bermingham from Ireland to Australia about 1833. I believe I found them arriving on the "Lady East" in Sydney 11/15/1833. I haven't determined either Bermingham or Doolan parentage. I have tracked Edward from Sydney Aus. to American along with most of his children. I believe Edward was on the ship "Duke of Roxborough" that left Sydney 10/16/1849 and arrived in San Francisco, Ca. 1/14/1850. However, I have been unable to determine what ships his children were on. Two of his daughters had married in Australia and then went to America and married others, which I find odd. Children were Elizabeth who married a Mullen in Australia and then a Miller in Calif. Catherine who married a Peasley in Australia, and then a Christian in Calif. Anna married a Tilley in Calif. Christina; nothing known about her. Margaret married a Newberry in Calif. William; nothing known about him. It appears that Edward's wife Margaret must have died in NSW Australia and have found a Margaret in obits who died 1/06/1852. I acquired the death certificate for this Margaret but there is no confirming evidence that this is the Margaret I am seeking. My main concern now is finding out if Edward and Margaret's son William stayed in Australia. I found a marriage for a William Bermingham and Ellen Clear 4/1/1863, but after receiving a copy of the marriage certificate, I cannot determine if this is the William I am looking for. Any Doolan/Bermingham connections out there??? Would love to hear from you!!!! Sharon in California USA
