Hi Lesley, Thanks for the info on the Kelly's. I don't really have much info on the Kelly family, but I do think that they owned a hotel that was in Kilmore, Victoria called "Kelly's Hotel". I have been concentrating more on my dad's family which is the McAsey line. Margaret McAsey was born about 1811 Kilkenny, Ireland, but I do not know whether she was married to Matthew Kelly in Ireland or in Australia. I do have 3 other children born to Margaret and Matthew that you do not mention. They are Ellen Kelly b 1851 d 1882, Margaret Kelly b 1854 d 1854, and Joseph Kelly b about 1854. Hi Sharon, Please ignore last message!!! Seems my brain isn't working too well today!! I meant, of course, that Matthew could be a sibling of my GG Granmother, Mary Kelly. John Cronan/Cronin was her husband!! Hi Gay Fantastic!! Could you please tell me the name of Norah's spouse?? How are they related to yourself?? Do you have any other information on the family, please?? My line is through Denis Treacy and Margaret Ryan, married about 1812 in Borrisoleigh, Tipperary. My GG Grandfather was Patrick Treacy, and my GG Grandmother was Ann Ryan. They came to Oz on the Flora Temple, in 1854. They settled just outside of Daylesford in Victoria. Wait to hear back from you, Lesley Anderson nee Tracey Heathcote, Victoria. ----- Original Message ----- From: "O'Neill Gay" <gayoneill@bigpond.com> To: <AUS-IRISH-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, June 15, 2003 11:27 AM Subject: Re: [AUS-IRISH] Treacy, Dwyer, Shanahan > Yes Lesley that is the area that the Treacy connection that I have comes > from. > In particular Grangelough in the Parish of Borrisoleigh. > I have a Nora Shanahan marrying into the Treacy family. > Nora Treacy only passed away a few years ago. > Gay O'Neill > gayoneill@bigpond.com > researching Dwyer from Grange/Curabaha, Shanahan &Treacy Grangelough - RC > Parish Borrisoleigh. > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Lesley Anderson" <andoshouse@iprimus.com.au> > To: <AUS-IRISH-L@rootsweb.com> > Sent: Sunday, June 15, 2003 9:02 AM > Subject: Re: [AUS-IRISH] Roll Call > > > > Hi Gay, > > > > Our Treacy family came originally from Borrisoleigh, Tipperary. > > > > Any Connections?? > > > > Lesley > > ----- Original Message ----- > > From: "O'Neill Gay" <gayoneill@bigpond.com> > > To: <AUS-IRISH-L@rootsweb.com> > > Sent: Thursday, June 12, 2003 1:12 AM > > Subject: Re: [AUS-IRISH] Roll Call > > > > > > > Leslie, > > > What part of Tipperary are your Treacy etc from. > > > Gay O"Neill > > > ----- Original Message ----- > > > From: "Lesley Anderson" <andoshouse@iprimus.com.au> > > > To: <AUS-IRISH-L@rootsweb.com> > > > Sent: Wednesday, June 11, 2003 10:14 AM > > > Subject: [AUS-IRISH] Roll Call > > > > > > > > > > Hi All, > > > > > > > > Where to start?? > > > > > > > > Tipperary - Treacy/Tracey/Tracy/Kenny > > > > Treacy/Tracey/Tracy/Ryan arrived Oz, > > > > 1854 on the Flora Temple>Daylesford, Vic > > > > - Cronan/Cronin/Kelly family > Abt 1850's > > > > Collingwood,Vic. > > > > > > > > Cork - Geary/Mulchinaugh > > > > Geary/Doran family >1870's Nathalia, Vic > > > > > > > > Meath/Kells - Campbell family settled Tallangatta, Vic > > > > Abt 1870's onward. > > > > > > > > I think that's it!! > > > > Thanks for your time. > > > > > > > > Lesley Anderson, nee Tracey > > > > Heathcote, > > > > Victoria, > > > > Australia > > > > > > > > Also researching: > > > > Andersons from Broughty Ferry/Dundee,Scotland > > > > Kilby from Yorkshire, England, > > > > Moyle from Cornwall, England. > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > --- > > > > Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. > > > > Checked by AVG anti-virus system (http://www.grisoft.com). > > > > Version: 6.0.488 / Virus Database: 287 - Release Date: 05-June-2003 > > > > > > > > > > > > ==== AUS-IRISH Mailing List ==== > > > > <Qui dedit beneficium taceat; narret qui accepit.> > > > > May he who does a good deed be quiet; may he who receives it tell > about > > > it. > > > > > > > > ============================== > > > > To join Ancestry.com and access our 1.2 billion online genealogy > > records, > > > go to: > > > > http://www.ancestry.com/rd/redir.asp?targetid=571&sourceid=1237 > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > ==== AUS-IRISH Mailing List ==== > > > >>"A truly happy person is one who can enjoy the scenery on a detour."<< > > > > > > ============================== > > > To join Ancestry.com and access our 1.2 billion online genealogy > records, > > go to: > > > http://www.ancestry.com/rd/redir.asp?targetid=571&sourceid=1237 > > > > > > > > > --- > > Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. > > Checked by AVG anti-virus system (http://www.grisoft.com). > > Version: 6.0.488 / Virus Database: 287 - Release Date: 05-June-2003 > > > > > > ==== AUS-IRISH Mailing List ==== > > >>"A truly happy person is one who can enjoy the scenery on a detour."<< > > > > ============================== > > To join Ancestry.com and access our 1.2 billion online genealogy records, > go to: > > http://www.ancestry.com/rd/redir.asp?targetid=571&sourceid=1237 > > > > > > > ==== AUS-IRISH Mailing List ==== > I knew that I was taking genealogy too seriously when I turned up at a cemetery search with a shovel > > ============================== > To join Ancestry.com and access our 1.2 billion online genealogy records, go to: > http://www.ancestry.com/rd/redir.asp?targetid=571&sourceid=1237 > --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. Hi, I do have a Kelly family that arrived in Australia during the 1850's. I am not sure if my Kelly's are connected to yours. I don't have a lot of info on them yet but I do know that a Matthew Kelly married Margaret McAsey (my ancestor) and they settled in Kyneton, Victoria. If their is a connection, please contact me and let me know. Yes Lesley that is the area that the Treacy connection that I have comes from. In particular Grangelough in the Parish of Borrisoleigh. I have a Nora Shanahan marrying into the Treacy family. Nora Treacy only passed away a few years ago. I can go back 4 generations but have quite sketchy details on the Irish connection. My great grandfather Patrick Morrissey was born in Ireland in 1835. His father's name was Richard but I don't have any more detail. Patrick married Mary Lonergan in Australia in 1864 around Kempsey, NSW. Would you have a Patrick on your tree ?
