    1. [AUS-IRISH] Surnames HARRISON and WOOD
    2. Margaret Szalay
    3. Am seeking information on the arrival of Henry Francis H HARRISON (Born Co. Kildare 1818, died?? 1863-5) and his wife, Marrion Grace WOOD (born 1826? in Co. Louth) – they married in Dublin in approx. 1847. They appear to have come to Australia after 1849 with a child Henrietta Georgeina, born 1849 in Dundalk Co. Louth, who married William Joseph Garnet BURGESS in 1865 in Sydney. Later surviving children born in NSW were – Francis J, born 1855, died 1930 (9 children?); Robert J, born 1857, died 1909 (7 children?); Thomas, born 1859, died 1891?; Marrion G E born 1861, died 1944 – married Benjamin JONES in 1881 (12 children); Rebecca M J born 1861 (twin) (marriage to Charles SHERINGHAM not confirmed), and Ann Alexandra (Annie) born 1863, died 1938, married Francis William HEATON, postmaster at Balgowlah in 1882 (5 children). I can find no information on the individual’s or family’s arrival in Australia in the 1850s, nor any evidence of Henry’s death after 1863 (after Ann’s birth/conception). Marrion remarried as a widow in 1866. Any information or advice on where to look for this information will be greatly appreciated. Any descendants? – I would love to hear from you. Regards Margaret Szalay (g.g. granddaughter – female line) - Sydney Email: [email protected]

My children were 18 of the white children that lived in aboriginal comunity. John had many emplyees of the district who were of the darkest aborininal community. Goodooga is very much different to Bourke community. I would think that you would have to go to the phone book to find john. I am wondering if there are records for this anywhere and how would we get access to them. > My James McAllister married abt 1837 in Limerick and then by 1840 had a son in Sydney, Australia. I haven'd been able to find any information on him except he was the first customs house officer for Brisbane, probably around 1859. This was taken from his son's orbituary notice.I have his wife Ellen's death certificate, giving marriage period etc. > Would love to hear from any one with a connection or any advice. > > Regards Jenny > Cairns QLD Aust. > > > ==== AUS-IRISH Mailing List ==== > Toowoomba Dead Persons Society > www.audps.com > > ============================== > To join Ancestry.com and access our 1.2 billion online genealogy records, go to: > http://www.ancestry.com/rd/redir.asp?targetid=571&sourceid=1237 >

Married 1856 in VIC to Elizabeth PLACE, daughter of John Place and Brdiget Brading, also born in Cork, IRL. Cheers Sandra
