Hi Listers Could someone please tell me again whether or not you find more information on the ACTUAL records stored in the various States' Public Record Offices and any microfiche, compared to what you find on the ONLINE passenger lists...? I've located some of my ancestors on both the ASSISTED and UNASSISTED passenger lists for Victoria ONLINE but wonder whether viewing the 'fiche' or going to the reading rooms might turn up extra information? For instance, I was wondering whether you might find out details of the SPONSORS who assisted them etc....? Some time ago a Lister gave me the answer to my query, but I can't remember what they said. Sorry to have to ask this again, but I'm still recovering from losing all my records due to several computer crashes this year...! I also have a friend in the UK who wants to find out more about the ship BERAR his ancestors came ASSISTED on to South Australia.
