Hi Would anyone have any ideas about the following:- My GGrandfather Henry PRICE came to Australia at about 18 years of age which would be approx 1876. He lived in and was born in Kent (Sittingbourne) and arrived in Melbourne. Would he have left from a Kent port most likely or somewhere else? Jannette
Hi Janette, Most ships to Australian ports left from Liverpool, Plymouth and London. From on line records Public Record Office Victoria There appears to be only one that would suit the time frame. As follows, these are only guides and it would be best if you could look up the ship from The fiche No.374 and page No.009, given at the end of the entry. This would give more detail. B = British ship. PRICE H W 21 OCT 1879 AFGHAN B 374 009 Kind regards, Lynne ----- Original Message ----- From: "David & Jannette" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Friday, November 04, 2005 11:46 AM Subject: [AUS-IMM-SHIPS] Kent-Melbourne > Hi > Would anyone have any ideas about the following:- > My GGrandfather Henry PRICE came to Australia at about 18 years of age > which would be approx 1876.
