    3. Hi Marj, The following sites may help. http://www.wightonline.co.uk/parkhurst-heritage/pictures.html http://members.iinet.net.au/~perthdps/convicts/park15.html Randolph - arrived in VIC in 1849 SOURCES The 761 ton ship 'Randolph' sailed under the command of Captain William Dale. She was said to have put in to the Isle of Wight on April 18, 1847 where she took on 84 Parkhurst boys. She is said to have finally set out from London on April 28 on her way to Sydney. She stopped in at the Cape of Good Hope and the Port Phillip Settlement (Victoria) on the way. The 'Randolph' was said to have arrived in Victoria on August 9, 1849 and discharged her Parkhurst boys. They made up part of the cargo of 295 male convicts she was transporting to Victoria. The journey finally ended in Sydney on August 20. Ian Nicholson's 'Log of Logs' indicates that surgeon W. Lawrence's medical journal for the voyage is preserved in the Public Record Office in England and is on the 'Australian Joint Copying Project' film no. 3208. The boys were listed in Paul Buddee's book, 'Fate of the Artful Dodger' and his research notes which were deposited in the Battye Library, Perth, some time later. His work has been expanded upon with information from other sources such as prison and Home Office records. Much of that information was also compiled and published by Keith Clarke in 1999 in his book, 'Convicts of the Port Phillip District'. The 84 'ticket-of-leave' boys who were transported on the 'Randolph' are transcribed below. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- * Although this information has been compiled in good faith, please refer to primary sources for confirmation and further research. 3. Thank you very much for this information Lynne. I did have this and haven't been able to find the site again even though I have done extensive searches. James Campbell who is listed as a "Parkhurst Boy" is in the State Records index as a Convict Exile along with Henry Campbell. They were tried in different courts at different times and Henry's name is not on this list of "Parkhurst Boys". I'm trying to find out Henry's age as there was virtually no information on the Ticket of Leave.
