My ancestor arrived in Victoria, Australia Sept. 1886 on the Chimborazo and the rest of the family arrived on the Lusitania in April 1887. How can I find out what port they left from and anything about the ships themselves? Angela

Hi Angela Am a novice at researching though found an interesting site for ships at http://www.reach.net/~sc001198/ShipsC2.htm The Chimborazo is mentioned and gives details of tonnage etc. Another site is www.anmm.gov.au/lib/iss.htm Australian Maritime musem which has suggested places to do further research.
