Hi Lynne, Sorry it took me so long to reply. Thanks for the info you sent. Now I know there were at least 2 Thomas Gibsons who were ship captains. My fellow supposedly died in 1852 so none of these would be him. Still, it's helpful to have this info as it can help rule out any earlier references to them I might come across. Best wishes, Katrina
