Hi I have just found out that I have an ancestor Gerard Sampson who travelled to Melbourne Australia on the Empress of the Seas in 1861. I would like to find out more info on this ship. Does anyone have any details or a passenger list for this vessel and what date this ship arrived in Melbourne in 1861. He left Melbourne for Otago, NZ in October 1861.
