Am trying to find out how my great Grandfather and uncle came to Australia. On John O'Neil(l)'s (GGFather ) .death certificate in 1883, it says that he was 62 when he died and he was 30 years in Victoria. My ggUncle Charles died in 1873 when he was 40 and it says that he had been 13 years in the colony. They both lived in Ballarat all their lives. They were from Pallasgrean, Cappamore, Limerick, Ireland. Would they have had to have gone to England first and did the boats generally go to Geelong??? TIA Janis
