I'm trying to find when my ggrandparents came to Victoria from England, and on what ship. They came sometime between Jan 1883 and April 1885. The details that I have are Name: CHARLES WHITTARD Wife; ALICE JULIA WHITTARD Child; HAROLD CHARLES WHITTARD born 12 Jan 1883 Bristol There next child was born 14 April 1885 in Richmond Vic. They stayed in Victoria for a few years and had 2 more children there. One born 21 July 1887 and the next on the 4 July 1889 There next child was born on 9 Aug 1891 in Sydney. I don't know how or when they came to Sydney, but it was sometime between July 1889 and August 1891. Is there anyway of finding this information, is there a CD available? If there is would someone mind doing a lookup for me. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I've come to a dead end with this family. Thank you, Susan Sydney
Hi Susan, I could not find a record for Charles Whittard and family in the Victorian Unassisted Passenger listing. However this listing only cover unassisted passengers. I'm not sure what records Victoria holds in this respect and it is a difficult one as not all assisted passengers were listed. Back on those days it was more of a buy ticket and hop onboard, much like buying a bus ticket today.
