    3. Hi, I'm new to this list and to searching shipping lists. I live in Northland New Zealand and most of my forebears seem to have left the UK and Ireland and headed for Australia before ending up in New Zealand, although a few side-tracked to India or South Africa before their arrival in Australia. I am now trying to find out when/where and any other info re their arrival in Australia. Mostly I know only their names, not the ships, and an approx date. Any help would be greatly appreciated. My first query: FURLONG, came from Co Wexford, Ireland. MARGARET, married St Lawrence Webb in Melbourne 26 Jan 1862. Their first child was born in NZ about a 18 months later. The only info I have for her is from her marriage and death certificates - and the facts clash. Said to be 22 - thus born abt 1840 in Wexford, Ireland. (Death cert says she was married at 17) Parents said to be William Furlong and Bridget nee Hebeve farmers. She made her mark. I have not found her on the Vic assisted and unassisted immigrant list, although I have been told a Margaret Furlong aged 18 arrived in Victoria via the Marco Polo in 1862. Is anyone able to give me any info about the Margaret on the Marco Polo? (My thought was that the ship would have had to arrive before the 26th Jan and that St Lawrence would have had to have been a passenger on the ship also - incidentally, he arrived at Port Phillip in July 1840 with his father and siblings, off the Coromandel, from Ireland.) WILLIAM, father of Margaret, husband of Bridget. I have no idea if any other members of Margaret's family came to Victoria. On the unassisted Vic list I found this: William Furlong, 68, Oct 1860, Mermaid, Port B Fich 182, page 005. Is anyone able to give me any further info on this William? My thanks in advance for any assistance. In hope, Rosemary
