Would that be the Samuel PATTERSON, born abt. 1863 in Donegal - parents Thomas PATTERSON and Mary JOHNSTON? If so, aged 17 years he arrived with his family in Sydney 9th July, 1880, on the 'Samuel Plimsoll'. They were Assisted Immigrants - the person who paid the 'Deposit' was Jas. PATTERSON. Hi Maureen You can't believe how pleased I was to get your e-mail this morning. I have been sesarching for a lead to my grandfather for a couple of years now. I have a feeling that this is the right Patterson, as he had a sister named Mary and his first son Sidney, had a second name Thomas. I will certainly check out, if possible, any more information from the "Samuel Plimsoll" If you have come across this name while researching your family. please contact me again. Perhaps we have an ancestor in common. or if you have any further information I have all of his history from the time he lived and married in Sydney, including War Records from his service in the Boar War and W W 1. I would be happy to share any information you are interested in Thank you again and hope to hear more from you Pat Horwood From: "Maureen" <79hael63@swiftdsl.com.au> To: <aus-immigration-ships@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, June 12, 2007 10:25 AM Subject: Re: [AUS-IMM-SHIPS] FW: researching > Would that be the Samuel PATTERSON, born abt. 1863 in Donegal - parents > Thomas PATTERSON and Mary JOHNSTON? > > If so, aged 17 years he arrived with his family in Sydney 9th July, 1880, on > the 'Samuel Plimsoll'.
