Hi, Lynne, I am very grateful for all this, especially for the Greville's Directory information. Am about to apply for some of those Birth Certificates. Hannah Elizabeth's Headstone in Rockley Cemetery says that she died on 2 Apr, 1936, aged 84. (She married Carl ASIMUS who was the 'acting undertaker' at George SHEPHARD's burial on 9 Mar, 1879 at Jumper's Flat: wherever that is?) That would put her birthdate as 1852. Found a marriage on the IGI this morning - an Extracted Entry - of a George SHEPHERD to a Charlotte WILLIS, 29 May, 1852, Claines, Worcester. Ledbury is Hereford and Worcester. Then checked the 1851 Census and found, at St Martin, Worcestershire a Charlotte WILLIS, dressmaker aged 29 with her widowed mother, Charlotte, 62 and 3 Lodgers, one an unmarried George SHEPPARD aged 26. (Too much to hope for?) That would make George b. abt 1825, which is 4 years out from his DC. The plot thickens................<g> So thankful for some help. One feels very alone with no-one else's input. except skewiff 'facts' ! Best wishes, Carolyn. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Lynne Radford" <lynne_r@tpg.com.au> To: <aus-immigration-ships@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, June 24, 2007 10:44 PM Subject: Re: [AUS-IMM-SHIPS] NAMES OF SHIPS ARRIVING ABT 1859 > Hi Carolyn, > FreeBDM has http://freebmd.rootsweb.com/ > Births Mar 1855 (>99%) > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > > Shephard Hannah Elizabeth Ledbury 6a 406
