Excellent Susan Thomas Scotten was also witness at my Henry and Ellen's wedding on 11 August, just 4 days after arrival of the Fairlie in Sydney. The marriage was witnessed by Jane Corbet and Thomas Scotton, who I checked on the indent, were also on the "Fairlie" 1848. I look forward to Gillian Kelly's follow up about gggrandmother Janet and the other "Fairlie" passengers she would have known. Thankyou very much for your help. Susan. NSW.. Hi Michael, So "Fairlie" passengers Henry Dewey, Ellen Kenny, Jane Corbet, Zaccheus Timms, Janet Turner, Thomas Scotton were all singles on the voyage, and married or witnessed eachother's marriages shortly after arrival. Thomas, Ellen and Janet lived in Rylstone area several years later. I suppose a support network and friendships were forged on these trips between the passengers and crew. I'm only new to this research so I'm just working things out. Helps to trace ancestors doesn't it when you find other passengers of the vessels they were on. Do you know if any of the other passengers moved to Rylstone? Regards, Susan NSW.
