Hi Carolyn I too have Italian ancestors! and they are a nightmare to find as they often anglisize their names! You can try Emigrants from Hamburg CD by Qld Family history group this should be in the library. During 19th century no ships left from Italy people had to travel to Germany. Also try National Archives Australia website as they were probably naturalised and most of these are online. If so this will give you the shipping details as well.
