Hi Many thanks to Lynne Radford for the information on my Harris family John Harris was already out here in Australia by yhe look of it working on the Cheviot.As a Ships Engineer he never appeared on the English census in 1871 81 just the family,so he could of been working in Australia for a number of years prior to his family arriving ,His mother who had remarried was also on the Aberdeen..
