    3. Hello Ann, You have gone to a great deal of trouble finding this, and I thank you sincerely for mailing the info. Unfortunately, these are not 'my' Felix and Mary. As strange as it seems, this Felix Dolan whom you name was actually the cousin of my Felix Dolan - my G-Grandparents immigrated initially and then helped their cousins immigrate to Brisbane also. Both cousins married a lady called Mary, and there was a great deal of confusion until we were able to sort out the respective families afterwards, as both families settled in South Brisbane and kept in very close touch for many years. 'My' Felix and Mary, probably put of desperation at the constant mix-up of the two families by Qld BDM, changed the spelling of their name to DOLIN. Much detective work was required before we found their grave in South Brisbane cemetery as BCC cemetery site has Felix Dolin listed as Felise Doolan etc., and I am told that the records of arrivals were flood-destroyed for the specific year and a half time frame of my family`s arrival. We can be precise for the dates, as one child, John, born and died in Fermanagh Jan 1861 and next child, Margaret, born in Brisbane July 1862. All the records appear to be available for the second couple, in fact my distant relative (also a member of this list) has written the history of that side of the family. He is a direct descendent of the child William whom you mentioned . Attempting to tie my side in is a jig-saw puzzle marathon, and I am always looking for a way around the difficulty hence the mail which you kindly answered. As soon as possible I will try to find the arrival via the old 'Moreton Bay Courier' records held in State Library. Please excuse my long-winded explanation, your in-depth research on our behalf deserved a similar reply. They are our enigma. Or, as Mr Macawber said 'Something may turn up"! Warmest regards, Dee. 3. Hi Dee, Thank you for your reply. Isn't it funny how all the answers seem to fit and yet be so totally wrong. I really thought that there could be only one person with the name Felix. Now get this. If you look out your front door, as long as it faces the route the ferry takes and look across to Russell Island I will wave to you. I live on the waterfront facing Lamb Is. We have possibly bumped into each other at the library here or at Vicky Point shops or even on the ferry. What a small world. I joined the list two weeks ago looking for my hubbys Drackford family coming from Glasgow to Melbourne and found them via Find My Past but their records don't cover the 1860. best wishes, Ann Perrin on Russell Island ----- Original Message ----- From: "Dee Byster-Graham" <deebg@bigpond.net.au> To: <aus-immigration-ships@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, August 09, 2007 8:08 PM Subject: Re: [AUS-IMM-SHIPS] (no subject) > Hello Ann, > You have gone to a great deal of trouble finding this, and I thank you > sincerely for mailing the info. > > Unfortunately, these are not 'my' Felix and Mary.
