    3. Hi Carolyn, The only ship by that name was HMS Collingwood, 1844-1848, Adm. Sir G Seymour. 3. Hi, Lynne, Thank you very much for that. It confuses me though, (not difficult!) because George SHEPHARD's DC of 1879 states he was in N.S.W. for 20 years and Charlotte's DC of 1915-16 says she was in N.S.W. for 57 years. This tallies with the BC of their 3rd daughter (I think) at Summerhill, Rockley on 3 Jun, 1859 (registered at Bathurst 1 Aug, 1859.) As yet, I do not have the BCs of their first 2 daughters (presumably born in England) and on 3 Jun, 1859 they are listed as "Previous Issue" - Hannah Elizabeth 4, and Sarah Ann 2. I think the ones you have mentioned are too early to be them. Do you? There is so much dissenting information about this family that I really can't be sure about anything, though. I have sent for Hannah Elizabeth's mariage (or death) certificate (not sure which !) to see if it mentions her birthplace and the maiden name of her mother (which to add to the confusion also is stated as SHEPHARD ) but there is definitely no marriage of 2 SHEPHARD's in England. George's DC says he was married at age 25, England to Charlotte SHEPHARD (= abt 1854) and Charlotte's DC says she was 21 at marriage (= abt 1853) and place of marriage was Sheffield, England. I've spent days on Ancestry and can't find anything which 'looks likely'. Shall try the 1851 Census again. Best wishes, Carolyn. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Lynne Radford" <lynne_r@tpg.com.au> To: <aus-immigration-ships@rootsweb.com> Sent: Friday, July 20, 2007 12:10 AM Subject: Re: [AUS-IMM-SHIPS] IMMIGRATION OF SHEPHARD FAMILY. > Hi Carolyn, > The only ship by that name was HMS Collingwood, 1844-1848, Adm.
