One 3 year old infant was Eveline Isabell HUBBARD (1908-2007), daughter of William HUBBARD and Mary Elizabeth TRICE. The HUBBARD family came from Kent, UK. There is a female child Evelyn Hubbard who was traveling with a Mrs Hubbard listed as a housewife - her marital status is listed as single - and a male child Fred Ship: Rangatira 20 Jan 1911 departed London Ship's captain: R D Lowden Passengers: 1015 Ship was headed for NZ and stopped in Sydney I viewed the original image but there isn't any further information really. These are available at most Libraries SS Rangatiri, departed from an unknown port and arrived in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, 1912 RANGATIRA 1908 Built by Workman Clark, Belfast in 1908 for Shaw Savill & Albion, she was one of five sister ships built for the frozen meat trade. Her details were - 10,118 gross tons, length 145.69m (478ft) x beam 18.68m(61.3ft) x depth 9.54m(31.3ft), one funnel, two masts, twin screw and a speed of 13 knots. There was passenger accommodation for 1,000 steerage class in the 'tween deck space. Launched on December 16th 1908, she entered service as a frozen meat carrier in February 1909. On February 7th 1910 she was put on the Liverpool - Wellington service and in September 1914 was converted to a troopship by the Naval Dockyard at Sydney. She was wrecked on Robbin Island, Table Bay on 31.3.1916 and much of her cargo was salvaged in the five months that it took for the ship to break up.
