The "Lord of the Isles" was an iron tea clipper built in 1853 by Robert Scott & Co of Greenock for Maxton & Co, Greenock. Under Captain Peter Maxton of Menam it made its maiden voyage leaving Greenock in November 1853 and arriving in Sydney on 1 February 1854.
