This is my first posting so forgive me for any mistakes. My name is Robyn and I have been looking for my g. grandfather William Charles PURCELL. He was born in India around 1835, his father of the same name died in India 1846. On his death cert. it states he was about 10 when he came to Australia. I have searched the shipping lists for NSW, VIC, and South Aust. no William Purcell age 10. As there is no mention of a mother could he be an orphan. Would ships leaving India come straight to Aust. or would they have gone to another country. Where do I go from here. I need help, any suggestions greatly appreciated. Regards Robyn
