    3. Dear Fellow Listers I have been trying to find how and when my great great grandparents travelled to Australia. Johanna DAVIS, daughter of Robert Davis and Mary Bryant, born Calne (Wiltshire) married John James SMITH, born Tonbridge (Kent) in Rockhampton, Queensland, Australia in 1865. >From dates on children's birth certificates - they had eight children, of whom only three were surviving when their mother died in 1886 - it seems Johanna Davis was born about 1843 and John Smith about 1838. Maybe they met on the voyage to Australia? I have not been able to trace Johanna Davis's or John James Smith's arrival in Australia thru immigration records in Qld State Library. Johanna was my gg grandmother - I'd love to know more about her, especially as she apparently travelled from England on her own; so many John Smiths in the records, yet none seem to fit. Your assistance very gratefully received. Regards Lyn
