    1. [AUS-IMM-SHIPS] Help Needed
    2. Gwenda & Bob Spendlove
    3. Hello all Not sure if any of you kind people can help us or not. My son has commissioned a painting of the ship Donald McKay coming into Hobson Bay in December 1861. The artist has requested the following information; The ship arrived at Hobson's Bay and then discharged cargo at Williamstown railway pier. The Sandridge pier was at Hobson's Bay. Does anyone have information that would reveal if the ship actually berthed at this pier? It is likely that the passengers would have disembarked at the first opportunity. The details of either pier are unimportant as all that will be seen in the painting is a row of ships in the distance. What I like to get correct is the direction of light, i.e. the sun, relative to the ship's heading. Can you identify the place where each pier would have been and let me know its compass bearing. Any help at all would be welcomed!! Gwenda
