    1. Ship Interests
    2. Margaret; This sounds like an exiting new interest area. May I, from across the big blue Pacific, take you up on your offer to list interests and mention two particular areas. I have been researching ships from UK/Ireland to Australia (mostly to Melbourne). My forebears and relations made their journeys between the 1840's and 1860's. Some of the ships and their Australian arrival dates I have been reviewing include PERSIA 9/1852 INVINCIBLE 8/1854 FULWOOD 11/1856 NEGOTIATOR 6/1857 GREYHOUND 8/1857 MERMAID 12/1858 FEARNOUGHT 11/1863 EMPIRE of PEACE 6/1864 CHAMPION of the SEAS 11/1864 GLENMARK 11/1869 My second area of interest is gold rush ships from the USA to Australia in the early 1850's. My great grandmother MARGARET KENNEDY, originally born in Tipperary in the early 1830's, traveled to the USA probably in her teens and then later sailed from the USA to Australia in the mid 1850's. She was married in Kyneton, VIC in 1861 and died in Euroa in 1903. My attempts to trace her trip/ship from the USA to Australia have so far been unsuccessful but who knows, I may get a lead from this new list ! Pat Morgan Corte Madera, California
