My maternal ancestors arrived in Maryborough, QLD in November 1873 on the "Humboldt" out of Hamburg - originally from Prussia. My query is why do they not appear on the Qld ship's manifest - as per list downloaded from Ancestry.com but apparently are on the Hamburg ship's manifest? (The latter was advised by Penny Manderson who is researching and writing on immigrant ships to Maryborough). Also how do I go about getting a copy of the Hamburg manifest? (Hamburg I know is slowly putting all manifests on line but have started with 20th Century and will not be finished before 2003 - I could be over there before then!). Anyone know where I can find a painting/photograph of the Humboldt 3 - ie the third ship of this name - have located paintings of the first two but drawn a blank on number three.
