Should think someone with that surname would know ?????. Have you checked the naturalisation indexes for VIC ?? The late Marion BUTTON did alot of indexing from the (Melbourne) Argus newspaper 1850/60s . Perhaps the VIC PRO have specific info ?? Have you asked ????
