My ancestor Richard Godsall emigrated to Queensland in "Golden City" in 1862 arriving 1863, reportedly via Queenstown, Ireland. I don't imagine Moreton Bay was its first stop in Australia, either. Would there be any record of how long the ship spent in Sydney or wherever? She travelled between Cumberland and South Australia in 1850's. Would a trip from the west coast of England in 1850 have called at an Irish port to collect passengers? > > Phillip Carruthers
