    3. Hello Listers Can anyone help me find the ship on which Nicholas HYERONIMUS (& family) came to NSW? I'm pretty sure that he would have been unassisted as he bought property at Wellington by 1844 & became a prominent citizen there. I am interested in the whole passenger list too, as the ancestor I am researching may have come as his servant. TIA Rosemary

Hi Rosemary I checked the NSW unassisted passenger indexes 1842 -55 also the NSW Naturalisation indexes and no sign of him I'm pretty sure that he would have been unassisted as he bought property at > Wellington by 1844 In theory if you werent a British subject already you werent supposed to be able to buy land ?? He did as were a number of refs to him in the AGCI index for land transactions 1847, 48 and 49 , Mostly reports in the NSW Gov Gazettes > & became a prominent citizen there. Because it was in the same folder as naturlisation I also checked the Aldine index for 1888 . This fellow kept his head down as not mentioned in that either Bye Marg Morters Member of Central Coast Family History Society GOSFORD NSW Australia
