Hi, I just joined the list. I am searching for an ancestor who came to Australia from England. He was born in 1848, and the registration district was Mutford, Suffolk. I checked the 1851 census index for Mutford, and he wasn't there! So either the family moved elsewhere, or I am thinking they maybe moved to Australia when he was very young, he would have only been 3. I have no idea what year he emigrated to Australia,(I know he lived in Victoria at some time) but if it was during the time span of 1848-1851, how do I go about finding which ships arrived during this time, and the passenger lists for them? On the same theme, if anyone has a passenger list from this time, could I impose a check up to see if he may be listed, his name being James Emanuel Brock. Thank you for any help, Karen
