Can someone please help me. I have an ancestor that apparently came to Australia as a remittance man. I have been told that his parents paid for his passage. Is there any way of checking passenger lists for people who paid for (or was paid for on their behalf) their passage? The time was between 1851 and 1861 and the name was John Stevenson. He married in Windsor in 1861 so he may have arrived in Sydney port. Any help would be appreciated. Regards, Steve Allen.
