    1. [AUS-IMM-SHIPS] James LEVER to Australia - when/how?
    2. Chris & Meegan Ferguson
    3. Hi Trying again to see if anyone can assist with finding when James came to Australia. He was married in Australia in 1875 and born 1847 in the Chester area. Was a miner in Australia so possibly was in England Can't find him in any of the usual sources at all - guess he might just be one of those who came with the bunch. There is a convict of the same name but we are fairly sure that isn't him Any help greatly appreciated Meegan Darwin

    3. I am trying to trace what ship my grandmother, Emma CALDER, arrived on, landing in Australia from England. She is thought to have arrived sometime between 1913-1916. She gave birth to my mother Sept 1913 in England. I think she landed in Sydney, Australia, but am not certain. If SKS could guide me the right place to search I would be very appreciative. Cathie in Canada

    1. [AUS-IMM-SHIPS] IMMIGRATION AGENTS
    2. Tony Smith
    3. Hi Listers. I am trying to find out about the husband and father of two people (mother & daughter) who arrived in Sydney on the "Largs Bay" on 19 June 1922. They are listed in the "findmypast" immigration records as Mrs G O M Barnes, age 28 and E V Barnes, age 4, last England address 80 Engadine Street, Southfield, London. The equivalent information (and nothing more) is shown on the New South Wales immigration record. On the New South Wales record, the Immigration Agent is identified only as C.G.L.S. Does anyone know what these initials stand for and are any of their records available? Mrs G O M Barnes was actually Gladys Olive May Saunders (parents identified) and E V Barnes was her daughter Evangeline Valerie. So far cannot find Evangleine by searching in Free BDM. Family lore is that they adopted the surname Barnes during WW1, as the father's real name was "European". Later Australian records refer to him as Damien Barnes, importer. I have a few theories about who he was, but no concrete evidence. Any information greatly appreciated. Regards Tony Smith

    3. Hi, I am trying to trace what ship my great grandfather arrived in Australia on. He is thought to have arrived sometime between 1840-1850. He fathered a child (my grandfather) in Albany, Western Australia 25/9/1859. If SKS could guide me the right place to search I would be very appreciative. I have searched the convict arrivals and didn't find him so I assume he came free. Cheers, Bev Collins
