Wondering if anyone out there has any information they would like to share. In return I have various bits of information on Cruickshanks in Australia that I have accumulated during my search. In particular....I would like to know how my ancestors got out to Australia. I have read various passengers lists but cant seem to match any in properly. I have enlclosed below all the information I have accumulated to date. None of the family (including myself) seemed too interested in their ancestors...until I have recently....so therefore anything further back than my grandfathers on both sides is very sketchy. But now I have a bit more on my grandmother Aspinall's side. Hoping that maybe someone might be able to make some connections. All information is greatly appreciated...I am sure I will be able to tie them all in eventually. Thanks Cindy-Leigh 1. The CRUICKSHANK side originally came from Scotland.....Aberdeen to Glasgow aparently. It is said that they came from convict stock.....but I can find no record of them on convict lists I have read. 2. I am pretty sure that both the CRUICKSHANK's & the ASPINALL's came from Victoria to the Goldfields in Western Australia. 3. The WARD's or the DICKSON's originally came from south of England. Aparently they were upper class. 4. Either the LODGE, WARD or DICKSON's are aparently descendents of Sir Walter Raleigh. My Father : Peter Graham CRUICKSHANK married..... The birth of Titus should be about 1858. Sarah Aspinall died in 1966 in Horsham (aged 86) and it showed that her parents were Fred Dennison and Ellen Taylor. Hi all - my first enquiry - my gf Christoph Heinrich HILLE, on his naturalisation application, said he arrived on "Morning Light" at Port Phillip in 1864 ex Liverpool. He is not on the assisted passengers ship's list so I presume he came unassisted. Does SKS have any unassisted passenger list for this ship? If so, could you confirm his arrival and if he came by himself or with rellies. He would have been about 22 years of age then. Thanks - Don Hille.

Hello All, I have been searching for the arrival from Scotland, of Mary Stewart MITCHELL and her child, Elizabeth between the years of 1881-1884. A lookup was done for me and returned the information: Mary MITCHELL age 22 single arrived Townsville 19 Jul 1883, aboard "Orban Bay". Mary was married in Townsville in 1884, so far, so good. BUT there is no mention of a baby (who became my grandmother). Can anyone offer a reason why the baby is not included in the listing? Thank you Lorraine (Nth Qld, AUST.)
