Hi all I have been unable to find any entry into Australia for RICHARD JAMES HODGE. He arrived some time before 1873 and settled in Maryborough, Queensland. He was born in Kent so probably departed that area. Has anyone any suggestions as I have checked the shipping in Brisbane archives. Hello to the list, I have recently joined the list and pose my question forthwith in the hope someone can help me out. My ancestors arrived in South Australia aboard the Morning Star in May 1863. The ship left Birkenhead in Liverpool, England the previous November ( I think it was November). I cannot find where my ancestors originate from apart from the entry in the BISA which states Glamorgan, Wales as their home. Husband and wife and son and two daughters are not listed on the IGI (to my limited knowledge on this family as far as I know). However I have a General Immigration Registration of Applicant Number which is for Humphrey JONES and is 3160. Can anyone advise on whether this number could be used by me somewhere to obtain Humphrey and families origins. Any help and/or advise very much appreciated Have a nice day and happy hunting. Hello All, I have been searching for the arrival from Scotland, of Mary Stewart MITCHELL and her child, Elizabeth between the years of 1881-1884. A lookup was done for me and returned the information: Mary MITCHELL age 22 single arrived Townsville 19 Jul 1883, aboard "Orban Bay". Mary was married in Townsville in 1884, so far, so good. BUT there is no mention of a baby (who became my grandmother). Can anyone offer a reason why the baby is not included in the listing? Thank you Lorraine (Nth Qld, AUST.) A Large library should have this paper on microfiche. If you should come across a picture of the Navarino would you mind sharing with me please. My ancestors came on the Navarino in 1851 and we are finding it so hard to find any real information on the ship Gwenda Victoria -----Original Message----- From: Meg G [mailto:MegGm@bigpond.com] Sent: Wednesday, October 17, 2001 3:24 PM To: AUS-IMMIGRATION-SHIPS-L@rootsweb.com Subject: FW: "Navarino" 1856 THIS MESSAGE IS FORWARDED TO THE LIST BY THE ADMIN.
