Hi Aletha, Sorry I don't get up to the Battye very often. I can tell you that the Ostle family are listed as OSTTE - arriving on the Elderslie 29 December 1886. Listed are: OSTTE Margaret OSTTE Mary Ann OSTTE Thomas OSTTE William B As far as I know the passenger lists for the 1894 time period are not on index at the Battye & it is a matter of trawling through the films but I do know that WAGS (Western Australian Genealogy Society) has recently brought out a CD index for later shipping into W.A. so it may cover this time. Try a search for their web site & the information on the CD should be there or you could perhaps ask for a lookup of the CD. Best wishes, Sharon Sharon McBride Perth, Western Australia mailto:mcbride@iinet.net.au Research Interests http://members.iinet.net.au/~mcbride/

Hello everyone, I have an ancestor, Simeon BURT who arrived in Pt. Adelaide on 24th September 1865 on the 'Electric', but any info that I have found on the vessel suggests that she did not come to Australia. Does anybody know of another ship of the same name? I'd appreciate any help. Thanks, Pauline KLUSKE

Can SKS answer does Australia have a site like Americas Ellis Island, which is a terrific research tool. At the present time I have only found 2 of my COPELIN immigrants to Australia 1 on Google because he worked his passage on the Ranee in the 1870's, and it is on that search engine, and 1 other I found on the NAA because he joined 3 Mining Co. AIF for WW1, and returned to Perth at the end of that conflict. I know there is at least 1 or maybe 2 others, 1 Joseph, who might have settled in Queensland, but I cannot find him any where, or any of the other possible family members. If anyone has a record please look and see if there are any COPELIN's Thank you, in advance Roger in a getting warmer England Royal Marines Searching for Copelin, Pont, Attrell.

Hi all, Would anyone know a web site or information (a map would be great) on the SS Otronto's route to Australia via the Suez Canal around 1957 from England? Or just the normal route the ships would of travelled? I believe there was some trouble going through the Suez Canal around that time. Thank You Regards, Ivy May ivymayvrlic@bigpond.com --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
