Thanks Gordon. The ship I am after is definitely SS Waihora. The Union Steam Ship Had two of these and this one was the first at 2004 tons. Does anyone know where I can get a photo of this ship. Also does anyone have any idea whether a passenger list might be available for the voyage from Auckland to Sydney arriving in Sydney sometime in May 1897.Thanks Tim Preece.
> > I was wondering if you would mind checking your ships passenger list for a > > Thomas Peter Nielson/Nielsen from Denmark? While on the subject of Danish immigrants, would any Lister be able to help find the ship that carried CARL ANTON RUDOLPH von BERTAUCH and his brother SOPHUS CONRAD von BERTAUCH to South Australia "about 1853 or 1854"? They came from Schleswig-Holstein, which was then part of Denmark - later Germany. It is of passing interest that Carl's grandson Ernst changed his name to BERT during the Great War, to avoid being labelled a "Hun", I guess - but cunningly baptised his daughter Yvonne! Does anyone have a list of the passengers on the AFAFURA arriving 23/5/1928. Onboard is a passenger name of REEVES I am seeking surname and point of boarding Thank you Roger Royal Marines Searching for Copelin, Pont, Attrell.
Hi there, Is there anyone out there who could point me in the right direction to get the passenger list for the Reichstag (? spelling) sailing from Hamburg to Brisbane in 1876? The family was Vandersee. My husband's grandmother was born on the voyage and I am trying to get the names of her entire family and any other information concerning the voyage. Kind regards, Loretta Everingham
Hi everyone. This is my first posting.I am trying to find the name of a ship that sailed from Auckland NZ to Sydney in 1897.My great-grandmother Emma PREECE died on board on 30th April 1897.The name of the ship is hand-written and difficult to decipher but looks like Waikanae,Waikoras,Waikoria or something similar.I have searched through numerous databases to no avail . The purser was A C Walton and Edw Stott Chief Officer. Can anyone help with the name of this ship please. Thanks,Tim Preece.
I believe this vessel visited Queensland in 1883 and I am seeking to trace the name of the ship's doctor or a passenger list. Would appreciate advice from any lister who may have access to this information.
> I was wondering if you would mind checking your ships passenger list for a > Thomas Peter Nielson/Nielsen from Denmark? Hi Judith, When I looked at my 'Lammershagen' passenger list, I realised that I only have the first and last pages copied off the microfilm. HOWEVER, there is a NIELSEN family (including just a Peter) from 'Overgaard, Danemark' listed as such: No., Name, Town & State, Occupation, Age, Sex 26 NIELSEN Jens O,D Landmann 48 m 27 NIELSEN Marie O,D Frau 40 f 28 NIELSEN Metta O,D Tochter 17 f 29 NIELSEN Maren O,D Tochter 13 f 30 NIELSEN Anton O,D Sohn 9 3/4 m 31 NIELSEN Peter O,D Sohn 7 m 32 NIELSEN Julianne O,D Tochter 3 f Also on the last page is a single NIELSEN (149 NIELSEN Ditl. C. E. Norgaard Schleswig Landmann 17 m) - there may have been more, but when I got the pages copied I was only interested in the ship's details and my husband's ancestor (listed on the last page). I believe I'm missing pages 2 and 3. Hope the names are able to give you some inspiration. I viewed the Lammershagen list about six years ago at the Cairns Historical Society - MAYBE a lot of Queensland Society's hold these records as the Lammershagen was a Queensland-bound immigrant ship?? Good luck, Michelle Darwin, NT

To Cara_Links Thanks for your reply. It is indeed a mystery. Still, there must be records of deaths at sea??? Was your g/father married in Australia? Wendy
I will get back to you as soon as I have gone through the passenger list. I have a problem that I hope someone can help me with. My G.Grandfather William PURCELL was born c.1835 India, his father of the same name died c.1845 in India. William married 1883 Stroud to Charlotte Ninnis. For the life of me, I can't find him on any shipping record. I have no idea when he arrived, and with a span of 38 years to account for I am stumped on what to do next. I need help. Regards Robyn
Try http://www.records.nsw.gov.au Then Publications Then Online Then Databases and Indexes, Shipping, Immigration Indexes. The indexes are not 100% but may help you. Hi listers Where can I access list of ships arriving (and passenger lists) in Brisbane from the middle to late 1880's? An ancestor, Edward DUNN arrived in Brisbane with his family from England and I am trying to trace him. Mari UK
Thanks for your reply Gary And Carole. I am looking for Joseph, William, Susan PRESTON and their families who came from England in 1911/12.I assume to Sydney as they settled in the Blue Mountains Also Walter, Wallace, and Blanche DYER believed to have arrived circa 1909/10.I also assume Sydney as they settled in Orange and surrounding districts. I have a bad copy of a postcard signed by W Dyer from "Themistocles", but this appears to have been written after they were already here. Also Cecil MILLS whoa rrived between 1906 and well before 1927. Once again, he settled in the Blue Mountains. Can do BDM lookups in return. Thanks for your assistance.
