    2. Sharron
    3. Would anyone have any knowledge of a ship by this name and where I could find info regarding her e.g passenger lists etc. My grandfather left England on board this ship in 1927. It spent two weeks in South Africa (I'm not sure why) and then arrived in Australia in January 1928. I think the Mamilius may have previously been known as the Zelandia but I also don't know why the name change. Has anyone any suggestions? Thanks Sharron --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. 3. I don't know anything about the ship but a bit of information I have might be useless to you! The town of Lyndoch in the Barossa Valley SA was named after Lord Lyn(e)doch who was a close friend of Colonel William Light ... designer of the city of Adelaide ... who named the town after his friend ... whom I think was an officer in the Crimean war. No help at all but interesting! 3. I am trying to find the ship's manifest information on MARY PURCELL who was supposed to have arrived in Townsville with her 2 sisters, Ellen [19] and Honora [17]. They came out on the TARA in 1880 but there is no mention of Mary in the list of passengers. I have found the name in the manifest of the DARLING DOWNS which arrived in 1874 but there is little info regarding this passenger. Would anyone have a full manifest for either of these ships please. Any advice will be greatly appreciated. Dear Lisa NSW State Records publish a series of fiche of convict indents from 1788 . These are called indents as convicts were classified as 'cargo' . These fiche are in quite a few year blocks Just look for 1838 . Check the top LH corner of the first fiche in that block and that will list the names of the transports and their page numbers. Page numbers are on the top of the fiche . These records to be found at State Records, Globe St The Rocks and in many libraries Bye Marg Morters Member of Central Coast Family History Society GOSFORD NSW Australia
