    3. Yes, Steph, it's a great feeling, & lately I've had some exceptional "finds" & in the process have acquired 4th cousins with whom I've been in contact, & before I never knew that they existed. They're all female, so as I have no sisters & no female 1st cousins, it's just lovely - a new family no less. Cheers, Babs ----- Original Message ----- From: "Stephanie Cocks" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Friday, August 26, 2005 7:07 PM Subject: Re: [AUS-IMM-SHIPS] re: ONYX arriving Port Adelaide 1848 > Hi again Babs, > Sorry they weren't there. Hi Peter A very useful publication is the Sydney Shipping Gazette , The National Library have digetised some 15 years of this . See : http://www.nla.gov.au/ferg/issn/14403897.html The Ebba Brahe is mentioned in the 8 Jan 1855 edition as being in quarantine. I have book on the history of the Quarantine Station at North Head and this ship arrived with measles, chicken pox and cholera on board Be worth checking in the Sydney Morning Herald > shipping column and in all 3 vols of the ' Log of Logs' books also For passenger lists info see NSW State Records films 2137 & 2469 Bye MargM Member of Central Coast FHS Gosford, NSW > > Thanks > > Pete > > > > ============================== > New! 1. Ships into S.A
    2. Monica Murray
    3. Hi Listers I have resubscribed as I have come up with another problem The "Biographical index of S.A." lists 2 persons named James French, one was said to have arrived on the "Adelaide" 1847 the other came on the "George Washington" also 1847 I have had a look on S.A shipslist & neither of those ships came to S.A that year & the passenger lists prior to 1847 haven't been transcribed as yet I was wondering if anyone had access to information on these ships please I do know that a James French did arrive in Adelaide in 1847 on the "David Malcolm", I'm wondering if he was one of these men & they put him on the wrong ship? Thank you Monica

    1. "Isobelle Watson"
    2. Marie Young
    3. Does anyone know if the vessel "Isobelle Watson" (or Isabella Watson) was an immigrant ship? If so how can I find out if Andrew Urquhart and his wife Mary Ann (or Marion) came here on it in 1840? Did it come to Sydney or only Port Philip? Marie [email protected]

    3. The following is from NSW BDM site http://www.bdm.nsw.gov.au/familyHistory/search.htm<http://www.bdm.nsw.govau/familyHistory/search.htm> As you can see a few Younghusbands come up under Births (up to 1905). Haven't checked marriages. Sadly I haven't found an equivalent site for other States and for the Territories here in Oz. Hope you find your people.
