    3. Dear Jenny, My husband has both BEUTENMULLER changed to MILLER and MILLER's that may have been something else, in his family. We have no one called Charles or Carl, but there are several FREDERICK MILLER's, one in particular who is a total mystery, born circa 1835? He may have had a sister Christina. (There are lots of them too!) They were originally in the Longford/Cressy/Perth area, then most settled in the LILLYDALE area of Tasmania under the name of MILLER. The original Beutenmuller family came out on the "Montmorency", also in 1855 from STEINHEIM, NECKAR District, WURTEMBURG. We suspect the mystery Frederick was some relation. Ring any bells? Regards, Wynnette Ford. ----- Original Message ----- From: Jenny Williams <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Sunday, June 16, 2002 10:14 AM Subject: [AUS-GERMAN] (AUS-GERMAN) MUELLER > Hello, > > I need help here. I have Charles Christian Frederick MILLER born c1828 in Rostock, Germany. A shipwright, he arrived in Tasmania from England on the "Heather Bell" in 1855. > I think his real name is Carl Christian Fredrick MUELLER. Baron Ferdinand Von Mueller, the famous Victorian Botanist, was actually born in Rostock too under the name of just MUELLER, the Von came later along with his title. I think these 2 must be connected. Maybe cousins. The Baron's parents were Fredrick MUELLER & Louisa MERTENS & young Fred was brought up by his grandparent, Christopher. > My Carl's parents were listed as Henry & Jean BARD on his MC but 2 of his children carry Christopher as a second name. > I did try the Mecklenberg Mailing List but gave up as I can't read the German messages. > Anyone got any ideas of how to find the MUELLER family in Rostock? > Jenny > > > ==== AUS-GERMAN Mailing List ==== > For your Aus-German resources go to > http://www.ainsleehooper.com/germlinks.htm > > ============================== > To join Ancestry.com and access our 1.2 billion online genealogy records, go to: > http://www.ancestry.com/rd/redir.asp?targetid=571&sourceid=1237 > > >
