Hi list, I have a problem. My gfather's father was Louis Aug MUELLER, a jeweller, born Sydney, circa 1873. He married Charlotte BUERCKNER (from Tungamah) in Corowa 1904. Family story goes that he was already married with 3? children when he married Charlotte. Can't find any proof yet. His father was Frederick MÜLLER, mother Mary RINAS. Problem? I have searched everywhere and cannot find Louis birth anywhere, or any reference to him. I have even changed the given names around in case. I have done a search for his parents to no avail. What do I do now, other than scream or chuck him in the bin? Can someone please give me some ideas. I will try anything. Thanks Barbara in Vic
Hi Barbara That's an interesting coincidence. My grandfather was Oscar MILLER who also had a first wife and child when he married my grandmother. Oscar's father was Edward Julius MILLER who was born in Stettin Germany and we were always told that the real surname was MUELLER or MULLER. Not sure how Edward arrived here either, he was rumoured to have been a stowaway. I wonder if these 2 scoundrels were related at all?
