    3. Hello My name is Vicki Hodges and I am looking from information on FREDERICK ROMMEL. The only information I have is he was interned in a POW camp in the first world war because he was from Germany. Also he could only speak about 6 words of english. I don't know how he came to Australia. He married MINNIE E SLACK in 1888 5 children. Ethel M. (b.) Newcastle New South Wales Australia 1889 Ivy Alma Waratah " 1890(my gg/m) Vera L. Hello Vicki I don't know if this will be of any help to you but the Biographical Index of South Australians 1836-1885 has the following information on a Friederick Carl Rommell, born 27.10.1812 in Frankfurt, Main, Germany.     3. Thank you for your reply. Unfortunately this does not help as my FREDERICK ROMMEL got married in 1888 and died somewhere around 1930. Thanks anyway. I have checked his marriage certificate and it does NOT state his parents name. A great mystery indeed!
