Hi, There is a Blankenhagen in the north of Germany between Rostock and Ribnitz-Damgarten, rather close to the Baltic Sea. This is possibly in the Vorpommern or Meckleburg 'states'. Sometimes they have a family history site on the area (I have found one for mine) and they can help. Each village usually retained parish registers and they where usually not destroyed in any war, these registers are kept in a central parish register. If you can find the name of the central parish site you can get copies to look at through the LDS. These parish registers will tell your if there are any other siblings and the parents names (sometimes where they came from if from outside the parish).
