Hi Bob, You responded to my posting a few days ago. The Ballhausen's I am researching did come from Clausthal. However, they came to Australia via the ship "Pauline", which arrived in Adelaide on 9 December 1849. They left Germany after their father and husband, Carl (a miner) died. Caroline married William Norton in Burra in 1850, and he was also a miner. I do not have the exact details with me at the present time, though I suspect this information is not what you were looking for.
