Hi all. This is my first time posting. I am researching the surname Ballhausen. My ancestors arrived from Germany in 1849, and lived in various places such as Burra (South Aust), Portland (Vic) and Ballarat (Vic). They came from Hartz, Hanover, Germany. I am also researching the surname Norton. It sounds English, but William Norton, was born in Elberfeld, Prussia (Germany), and naturalised in 1857. It's thought that he changed his name when he came here. Caroline Ballhausen married William Norton, 1850, in Burra SA. I'm interested in hearing from anybody who thinks they may be connected, researching the same line and would like to share information. I have more information than this to share. Thanks all.
