Albert hi. I was the one who replied to Lisa about this subject as my great-grandfather was also aboard. If you read the newspaper articles about this voyage and arrival you will see that 4 men vanished. Our great-grandfather arrived 2 months later in Victoria. Does this mean he was one of the 4, who had signed up for work, or was a paying passenger. The shipping list doesn't seem to indicate from what I believe, so therefore we have our fingers crossed we will find one of these agreements with Christian Haeffner's name on it! If we do, then we know, if we don't we shall still wonder, did he or did he not violate his agreement. Fingers crossed Denise ----- Original Message ----- From: "Albert Grulke" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Sunday, April 14, 2002 8:52 AM Subject: RE: [AUS-GERMAN] Memorandum of Agreement > Can I add to this that there is no collection and officially no copies of > any of the agreements. Denise, Did I create the wrong impression. If so I am sorry and apologise. I saw a couple of emails about these memorandums and asking if there was a record of them. I had previously searched this question and thought I had the answer to that question. However the query you raise is an interesting one. If only there was some way that we could find out.
