Hi Angie Go to www.naa.gov.au and type in your ancestors surname in record search, when you get a hit it will be probably naturalisation record which you can order for free, I have not paid yet, it will have ship and place of birth etc. If your "relie" was in S.A and another state check each state office, my relie was naturalised in S.A and Vic as all the colonies where virtually separate countries.
